Hi, I’m Frances. It’s so nice to meet you.

If you’re anything like the clients I work with, you might feel like you’re carrying the weight of two worlds. Maybe you’re trying to be the "good daughter" or the "successful son," while secretly wondering when you’ll get to just be you.

I get it—not just professionally, but personally. I’m a second-generation Chinese-Canadian, raised in a family shaped by political trauma and survival. I know what it’s like to hold your parents’ sacrifices in one hand… and your own dreams in the other.

After nearly a decade working in mental health agencies and government, I left my secure, pensioned job in 2022 to follow a calling that felt deeply personal: helping second-generation immigrants break generational patterns—without breaking themselves.

Here’s what I want you to know:
You’re not broken for feeling like you’re living two lives.
You’re not selfish for wanting something different than what your parents hoped for you.
You’re not weak for feeling exhausted from holding it all together.

Maybe you’ve spent years translating—languages, emotions, expectations—while trying not to disappoint anyone. Maybe you've tried to be both the dutiful child and the independent adult, and it's left you feeling stretched thin, stuck in between, unsure of where you truly belong.

You get to honour where you come from and carve out a path that feels true to you.
You get to rest.
You get to go after peace.

In our work together, we’ll go beyond just talking. I use experiential approaches like Focusing, Internal Family Systems, and Emotionally Focused Therapy—evidence-based methods that help reconnect your mind and body, right and left brain, so healing goes deeper than words.

With over 10 years of experience, I’ve supported individuals, couples, families, and groups through trauma, family conflict, grief, depression, anxiety, and that quiet but constant ache of never feeling "enough."

I’m also a clinical supervisor and enjoy mentoring new therapists as they develop their own voices.

Outside the therapy room, I’m a mom of three, a reader, a tennis player, and someone who felt most at peace hiking hundreds of kilometres on the Camino.

If you’re ready to create space for your own healing—and not just carry the legacy of others—I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.

Warmly,
Frances
